Happisburgh Lighthouse

Brushes and tins have now been packed away as Sandtex Exterior Paints celebrates the successful makeover of Great Britain’s only independently operated working lighthouse – Happisburgh Lighthouse.

Despite the rain and floods, Sandtex and the contractors have battled through some of the harshest conditions and Happisburgh Lighthouse Trust are delighted to officially re-open to the public one of East Anglia’s most famous landmarks, which now stands proudly in the Norfolk skyline

Over 360 litres of Sandtex exterior paint has been used to cover the 85ft tall landmark, 170 litres of which is Sandtex Ultra Smooth Masonry Paint in a bright Red, to make up the iconic three red bands, which identify the lighthouse as a daytime navigation aid.

Liz Bowater Brand Manager at Sandtex said: “We are absolutely delighted with the results of this project and I would like to thank everyone for their hard work – this has been a really great community initiative and will demonstrate the hard wearing and durable properties of Sandtex Masonry Paint.”
